Amarillo Area Doulas

​

The word doula from the Greek word meaning women’s servant. Women have been serving others in childbirth for many centuries and through different studies, it has been proven that support from another woman has a positive impact on the labor process.

​

There are several women working as doulas in the Amarillo area and the Texas Panhandle. Some hold Doula certification and some do not. Still others are in the process of receiving certification and some are just good at providing comfort, guidance and a gentle, reassuring presence during labor and birth and are not beholding to any certification.
